I have only had bettas since May 2013 but I've had my fishtank since fall 2010. I started with a trio of pearl gouramis, just for community tank, a bristlenose catfish and some Siamese algae eaters. My attempts with the fishtank was moslty to get a balance where the plants and fish would thrive and nature would decide the course with little interferance from me.
About spring 2011 I stumbled upon Takashi Amanos gallery and got aquascaping disease so I attempted a few different lame scapes myself.
Some time during 2012 I got caught up in colouring and patterns on fish and bettas came to mind. I googled around a bit and was amazed of how many different varieties there was on this fish and decided I might go buy one for my tank since I only had a bristlenose at that time. I started to look around and found nothing nearby that I fancied. Then I joined Facebook (which I had avoided for years) and found betta forums after betta forums and the moment I saw some HM dragons Embra had I just had to buy them.
Now I got 4 females and one male, and the plan is even more and maybe some small scale breeding.
Colours I like varies from fish to fish really but I'm weak for contrasts, dragons and the colours black, red, white/silver. Also the shape of the fish is playing a huge part for me.
Other stuff about me is I like painting, computer games, nature and animals in general. I currently live with my Londoner and got 1 dog and 2 cats and a daughter in Karlstad. I love working with my hands and are mostly a very impatient person (most think I am patient like no one else) and want everything NOW like most 5 yr old That's why I got my dog and fish tank, it helps me practice forbearance and makes me happy :).
